“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Our Oswal Mitra Mandal (OMM) team continues to strive to live by Gandhi’s words during times when we’re all struggling to find our inner sense of balance. The COVID-19 pandemic is perhaps one of the greatest challenges faced by communities across the world. How we respond to this situation is not just a testament of our own individual strength but also the collective mind set of our community. OMM was also engaged in its own way to compassionately attend to the disruption in medical and human life.
Among the various activities undertaken, was relief operations by way of distribution of food grains for the Migrant workers in coordination with the Home Guard for more than 1000 migrant labourers for them to survive the entire lockdown.
OMM has been closely working with the ‘Cerebral Palsy Association of India’ holding regular camps for the differently abled children. In view of the lockdown some of the families & the differently abled children who were making their livelihood by making & selling small knick knacks have been rendered jobless. OMM has provided these families with food grains & relief during the period of the lockdown.
OMM provided Sanitizer bottles to various Police Stations of Thane,Vakola,Ghatkopar,Bhandup etc as well as Medical supplies to Hospitals like the Thane Municipal Corporation Hospital etc
The Mandal provided consultation services to patients as well as helping them in getting admitted to hospitals whenever the need arose.
